Bryant Homes has been popping the champagne corks at Stamford Brook as the pioneering scheme has been highly commended in the Best Eco-Friendly Development category of The Daily Telegraph Your New Home Awards.
Stamford Brook offers purchasers top quality, stylish and comfortable homes which are also kind to the environment. In close consultation with the National Trust all the homes have been carefully designed to blend with the natural environment and to minimise greenhouse gas emissions. They are constructed with products and materials, such as low formaldehyde chipboard and MDF, that do not affect the ozone layer and alternatives to PVC have been used for windows, doors, ducting, pipe-work and electrical wiring. In addition all new timber and construction materials have been used from sustainable or renewable resources.
Kevin Belsham, UK sales and marketing director, said: “We are thrilled that Stamford Brook has been highly commended in these prestigious awards which are widely regarded as the most independent within the new build industry. With environmentally friendly living being increasingly a national debate, we realise the importance of meeting the dual government requirements for more new homes and ecologically sound construction practices.
“We have proved at Stamford Brook that sustainability is not primarily about using less energy but also about reducing the use of other resources, good architectural and functional design of buildings, encouraging the development of vibrant communities, and providing a healthy and attractive environment in which to live.”
