About the Area
Excelsior Gate is a delightful collection of new 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes, in an excellent location between Motherwell and Wishaw. This is a popular residential area, with good local amenities all close at hand. Motherwell has a wide selection of shops and stores, ranging from High Street stores to smaller, independent retailers, and there is a large superstore within half a mile for all your day-to-day needs. A little further away, Hamilton has an even wider range. For a night out, Motherwell town centre boasts a good selection of pubs and clubs, and a selection of restaurants including Italian, Indian and Chinese.
For sports and leisure, there are fitness centres in both Motherwell and Wishaw, and the Aquatec swimming/fun pool just a few miles away, so there really is no excuse! For those energetic kids, Lanarkshire Ice Rink is in nearby Hamilton, as well as plenty of options for golfers and tennis players. For the outdoor life, Strathclyde Country Park offers country walks, watersports and an amusement park, and there is also an RSPB bird reserve nearby.
There are plenty of doctors and dentists in the area, and Wishaw General Hospital is just under a mile away. For families, there is a wide range of primary and secondary schools local to Excelsior Gate. Getting out and about is easy. Glasgow city centre is about twelve miles away, and road links are excellent. The A723 links to both the M74 (Junction 6) for journeys north and south, and the M8 (Junction 6) for journeys to Edinburgh and the east. Rail services from nearby Shieldmuir station run regularly into Glasgow and beyond, and the area is well served by bus and coach services. All in all, this is a great place to live - especially in a new Bryant home at Excelsior Gate.
