Little Ones Welcome At Grand Union Villages’ New Crèche Facility

A new crèche facility at Grand Union Village (GUV) is due to officially open on Sunday 7th January, providing quality childcare for both residents and the local community in Northolt. The brand new children's day nursery and Montessori is being officially opened by the Mayoress of Ealing, Diana Pagan.

Part of the existing community facilities, the 280 sq m crèche will be an important addition to the flourishing community based around the Engineer’s Wharf marina on the Grand Union Canal. The facility will offer childcare to children from age 3 months - 5 years with age groups being split into separate areas, catering for their specific requirements.

Nirupa Kukapalan, owner of the new nursery and who currently runs Snowflakes Day Nursery and Montessori in Southall said: 'With over 700 new homes being built at GUV we could see the obvious need to offer high quality childcare. For parents, finding decent childcare can be a real headache. A new nursery on the doorstep will be a great asset to this growing community.

“I'm very excited about welcoming lots of new young faces into this fabulous facility and would encourage anyone interested to come along on Sunday to meet us! There will be an exciting range of activities planned and light refreshments for all the family.”

The community facilities at Grand Union Village support a wide range of activities for all residents, and are situated near the canal basin. In addition to the crèche, they include a large multi-purpose room for recreational purposes that can be divided into two smaller rooms. There are training and meeting rooms and a room for either one off events or regular meetings such as yoga classes and mother and toddler groups. There are bar and toilet facilities, wheelchair access and buggy storage.

Grand Union Village is one of West London’s largest regeneration schemes and sits within a stunning waterside location next to the Grand Union Canal in Northolt. The community facilities on site are managed by the Community Development Trust, which is funded by Taylor Woodrow and Genesis Housing Group.
