Part Exchange to Avoid the Cost of HIPs
The number of people part exchanging their property for a new home is set to increase now that Home Information Packs have been extended to all properties, according to Bryant Homes.
The Home Information Pack (HIP) is a set of pre-prepared documents including land-registry documents, local searches and an energy performance certificate. The packs could be up to £700 and failure to produce one will result in a £200 fine. Sellers will not be required to provide a HIP if they part exchange their property for a new Bryant Home and are therefore set to save hundreds of pounds.
Kevin Belsham, UK sales and marketing director for Bryant Homes, comments: “There are already huge benefits to using our Part Exchange scheme, including a guaranteed price for your home, no risk of a chain breaking and no estate agents fees. Avoiding the cost of providing a HIP is now another reason why Part Exchange is such an attractive option.”
